Mountain Christian Church | Sermons

What happens when Jesus sits you down for a heart-to-heart? In week 2 of our Revelation series, "The Man Behind the Curtain," we walk through Jesus' letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2–3, a kind of performance review from the One who knows us best and loves us most. We hear his words of affirmation for churches that endured suffering and stayed faithful, and his loving corrections for those with "slippage," from losing their first love in Ephesus and compromising in Pergamum to spiritual sleepiness in Sardis and lukewarm faith in Laodicea. These words aren't meant to shame us but to save us, and they end with an invitation: Jesus is standing at the door and knocking, and only you can open it. Where is Jesus calling you to wake up, turn back, and return to your first love?

What if the book of Revelation isn’t meant to scare us, but to give us hope? As we begin this new series, we pull back the curtain on Revelation to discover its central message: Jesus is greater, stronger, and more present than we often realize. Written to people facing fear, pressure, and uncertainty, Revelation reminds us that rescue is coming, hope is real, and we’re called to stay faithful to Jesus in the meantime. Whatever you’re facing today, this message invites you to see Jesus in a bigger way and to remember: don’t be afraid.

We all see the world through a lens, but have you ever stopped to ask what is shaping yours? Today we explore the worldviews and ideas that influence how we understand identity, truth, purpose, happiness, and even what happens after we die. We’re challenged to recognize the beliefs shaping our lives and consider what it looks like to let Jesus transform the way we think. Ultimately, Jesus brings us to a deeply personal question: “Do you believe this?” And how we answer has the power to change not only how we see the world, but how we live in it.

What’s wrong with the world and what will fix it? We all see the brokenness around us, but the way we define the problem shapes where we look for the solution. In Glass Half..., we explore how the Christian worldview makes sense of sin, suffering, and a world that isn’t as it should be, and why our ultimate hope isn’t found in a system or philosophy, but in Jesus.

Everyone sees the world through a lens, but have you ever stopped to consider what’s shaping yours? In Week 1 of Glass Half…, we explore what a worldview is, where it comes from, and why it matters more than we may realize. From culture and family to social media and entertainment, we’re constantly being shaped by ideas about who we are, what’s true, and how we should live. So how do we know if what we believe actually lines up with reality? Together, we’ll look at what it means to develop a Jesus-centered worldview and allow Him—the Way, the Truth, and the Life—to shape the way we see and live in the world.

What does it mean to live as a faithful follower of Jesus in a world that often opposes His ways? In this message from 1 Peter 3, we explore Peter's call to be winsome witnesses—people who don't respond to opposition by fighting, fleeing, or freezing, but by living with humility, gentleness, and hope.
